Myofascial Dry Needling
After an injury or repetitive trauma, muscle tissue is damaged and heals through inflammation, scar tissue formation, and muscular tension. This tension limits the function of the muscle and can also entrap the nerves leading to pain, knots, and weakness.
During dry needling, a small solid filament needle is inserted into the muscular knot or trigger point to disrupt the pain cycle by reducing chemical irritation, decreasing tightness, and improving flexibility.
